Jinibara State School was constructed during 1995 and opened in 1996 to cater for students in the growth corridor of Narangba Valley.

Jinibara's maiden year saw enrolments of around 200 students, providing service for Preschool to Year Seven. Enrolments and infrastructure, grew rapidly in the following years.

The school's founding philosophy, Excellence through Partnership, espoused that teachers, parents and students should work closely to ensure student success. The founding Principal was Mr Bruce Fogarty.

The official opening

Jinibara State School was officially opened on Wednesday, 28 August, 1996.
