Jinibara State School falls within the locality of Narangba. At one time Narangba was part of an area known as Stoney Creek, however when the railway line was built, the local station was named Sideling Creek Station. Later the area was renamed ‘Narangba’, an indigenous word for a small ridge, which adequately describes the area.
The three words: Pride, Respect, Knowledge denote the legacy that the founding parents envisioned that the Jinibara State School would leave with every enrolled student. Pride in oneself and their achievements. Respect for others. Knowledge on which to base informed decisions.
