Many of our students have been participating in the Premier’s Reading Challenge. During this week students who have participated in the Challenge will be presented with participation certificates. The actual Awards Certificates for the reading challenge will arrive later in the year.

The ‘cut off’ date for the Premier’s Reading Challenge is the 21st of August 2009.

As part of the celebrations the following events will be held during week seven of this term 22-28th of August. The theme for this year's Book Week is Book Safari.

Book Parade is scheduled for Friday the 28th of August.  Starting Time is 9a.m.

Our annual Book Parade has been a greatly supported and a successful event in the past and we look forward to this being well supported again this year. Although a fun event it is a great way of promoting the importance and enjoyment of reading! It is always great to see our students and teachers dressed up in an array of varied and imaginative costumes. Parents you are encouraged to come along and enjoy the fun. Children are encouraged to choose a character from their favourite book and come dressed as that character for the Book Parade. Costumes do not need to elaborate just inventive.

Prizes for will be awarded for the most creative Boy /Girl Costume for each of year level Prep to Yr 7. I.e. Prizes awarded to the best boy and girl in each Year Level.

A range of other activities will be held in the Library and the classrooms throughout the week of Book Week 2009
